Spare parts for (very) old Quadura drum set. Where?

Hello,
I own a beautiful Remo Quadura set. I bought it in 1991 or 1992, already used, and played it a lot for the last two decades. Now, something starts to break up. Do you have any idea of where to find spare parts for the toms (the metal rings, the screws, the clamps, etc.)?

  • I went to my local music store who hooked me up with a remo representative. The did have few parts but no catalog. I sent the remo rep pictures of what I needed and he provided part numbers. 2 out of the three parts I needed were the right ones (lugs & screws were right, bass drum legs were wrong)

  • "Quadura" actually refers to the drum cover material and not the drum model. Unfortunately, many of our older drum kits say "Quadura" instead of the actual model...and had revised, or updated hardware, so it will be difficult to determine the exact part #'s to reference to check existing stock.

Please contact us directly for further assistance 1-800-525-5134. We will need to see a picture of the drum and existing parts you still have (via e-mail if possible) to confirm what you need.

Jeff, we'll be more than happy to find the right parts for you if they're still in-stock.

    • Christian,
On the drum there are two stickers: One says "Acousticon", wich I thougth was the drum material, and the other says "Quadura by Remo", which I thought was the model.
I cant't contact you at 1-800 etc., I'm in Italy and those number don't work from my line. Do you have an european customer service, or Italian?
Otherwise, I'll post the pictures here.
I thank you very much for the kind answer.
      Bye
      Simone

  • I’m thankful and confident
These are some images. Hope you can identify the model.
    Thanks again

  • Yes, "Acousticon" refers to the drum-shell material
"MADE FROM MULTIPLE THIN PLIES OF 100% WOOD FIBER, LAMINATED UNDER PRESSURE INTO A SOLITARY TUBULAR STRUCTURE. EACH DRUM SHELL IS IMPREGNATED WITH SPECIAL RESINS TO BECOME COMPLETELY IMPERVIOUS TO MOISTURE, AND THEN GIVEN A SPECIAL ACOUSTIC COATING INSIDE"

Thanks for providing pics. This is the "ENCORE" model. This kit uses Powersnap lugs: "snap open to release drum head for quick change, snap closed to allow lug tuning of standard drum head."

We no longer offer the tom arms, but we do have some stock on the Powersnap Lugs.
So, do you need the counter-hoops, Powersnap lugs and the tension rods?
Please provide the counter-hoop sizes and i'll check stock.

    Our Distributor for Italy is:
    ARAMINI STRUMENTI MUS.SRL
    390-516-020-011

Please provide more detail on what you need. After i provide part #'s, you can place the special order with their assistance or you could place the order with a US dealer for a quicker turnaround-which i could further assist with.
    Thanks

  • I’m very, very thankful
    Christian, thank-you! really!
The most important part I need, is of course the tom arm, pity it's now out of stock. But now that I know the model name, it'll be easier to find some used parts.
Of course, I also need the powersnap lugs. Two broke up, and I managed to fix the set with some pieces found at my local hardware store...
And I also need the counter-hoops and the tension rods (If I well understood what they are...my English is all but perfect...the screws engaging in the Powersnap lugs?).
The measures are: 14" (snare), 10" and 12" (toms), 14" and 16" (floor toms) and 20" (bass drum).
    Thank you again.

Triple flange hoops were used on most kits back in the 80's. Unfortunately, we no longer offer those specific hoops so maybe you can locate other drum manufactures to see if they still offer them-as they were rather generic. FYI...We currently use die-cast hoops on our latest Gold Crown Series drumsets, which are compatable but do have a different look. The drum rods should also be generic so a local retail store should be able to help you with that-just indicate the length required.
As far as the powersnap lugs, reference the following part #s:
    [29-4060-00]- TOM POWER SNAP
    [29-4065-00]- SNARE POWER SNAP
    [29-4062-00]- BASS POWER SNAP

For these lugs, I'd recommend going through a U.S dealer for the quickest turnaround. I don't believe shipping costs would be too outrageous for those.

  • Great sounding drums. I had those exact drums with a 20" kick and 10", 13" and 16" rack toms used as a 1 rack tom, 2 floor tom type of set up.

The hoops and rods you can get from drummaker.com

I believe that Gibraltar makes those types of tom mounts as an aftermarket/replacement.
